Synchronized translation of Tou Mikrou Voria, verses by Odysseas Elytis, music by Mikis Theodorakis, performance by Maria Farantouri.

slight revision at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2wZ0EJNqOo

The translation was done with help from those by Carson and Sarres (2004) The Collected Poems of Odysseas Elytis, and zeena61 on youtube, and help and advice from Mixalopoulos and catherini on the forum at http://www.allthelyrics.com/forum/greek-lyrics-translation.

The synchronized translation is hereby licensed under youtube creative commons; I can provide .srt files for anyone who wants to do a version for their own language (can’t use the cc button due to third party content match).

‘Door leaves’ are the halves of a double door, not really normal in English but hey this is poetry so it seemed in the end better to put the leaves in than leave them out.

Corrections and improvements welcome!

(if somebody wants to try something like this for their own language, I can provide a .srt file, which ctonains the timing information)

The picture is from the Bay of Fires, North Eastern Tasmania.
