The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) is perhaps the most romantic score written by Bernard Herrmann,Here his scoring ranks alongside the best of Alfred Newman, with whom he collaborated on ”The Egyptian”. The movie is beautifully directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz with excellent photography by Charles Lang Jr. Both Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison have an electric on – screen chemistry and George Sanders plays the cad at his roguish best. It also had a young Natalie Wood as Mrs. Muir’s daughter. This suite of Herrmann`s music consist`s of …..
